School has started for both boys. Tyler is driving himself to 10th grade (he hates sitting in traffic) and Jake started a full load of classes at Miramar College today. Tyler’s football team won their first game of the season. He is a starting guard on the O-line. Jake and I did a grand prix race up in Big Bear on the ski slopes. It was a technical track but fun. Jake placed 2nd in his class.

Tyler is enjoying his last few days before school starts. Football is in full swing with helmets and pads. They had a scrimmage last Friday evening between the varsity, JV and freshmen teams. Jake is finished with his summer pre-calculus class and has a couple weeks off before the fall semester begins. We went to a BBQ yesterday and the boys chauffeured us. This having kid's thing is finally starting to pay out dividends 😆

Tyler got his driver’s license! No more driving to sports practices for Kristin and I! Other than that, just doing some riding here and there. Jake and Tyler actually went riding together for the first time without me. Happy to see them doing stuff together. Kristin and I went beach camping for the first time without them, and it was very relaxing.

Tyler is 16!!! Kristin upgraded her car (after 21 years) and Tyler bought her old car. We also upgraded his old bunk bed to something that fits him much better. 😄

Tyler’s meal of choice “Epic Wings”

Jake decorated Tyler’s cake Kristin made.

Hard to tell the decorating wasn’t professionally done? 😆

Jake had an incredible time at Mammoth last week! He holeshoted and won the first qualifying race of the weekend, 1st and 3rd in his other qualifying races, finished 2nd overall in two classes, overcame a mid-pack start to get 5th overall in his other class. 3 more Bear trophies for his collection and $400 in KTM contingency cash. I have never seen him ride so fast, so effortlessly. And on top of all that, hanging out with his friends all weekend. Core memories made!
