Another teenager in the house! We celebrated Tyler’s 13th birthday over the weekend. He got new big wheels for his dirt bike and a new trampoline. Took both boys indoor skydiving and then our traditional birthday dinner at Red Robin. Saturday, Jake raced while Tyler and I went riding. This was Jake’s first race back since he hurt his shoulder. Not so great on his starts, which was expected, but he improved significantly each moto and had a great time hanging out with his buds. Tyler took a couple friends to an escape room for his birthday Sunday. It was pretty neat and they all had fun.

We had a nice Independence Day. Started off with our neighborhood 4th of July parade/walk. Then we went for a family hike at Torrey Pines beach followed by lunch at Dukes in La Jolla. Came back to smoke ribs and had friends over. Jake is practicing his driving and is doing really well, despite giving his Momma a few new grey hairs.

Both boys did outstanding this year in school. Jake got a 4.0 and Tyler a 3.8 grade point average for the whole year. Tyler got an academic achievement award at school. Tyler had a rugby tournament on Saturday. It was a perfect day for it, overcast and cool. The weather to start the summer off has been amazingly cool. Kristin and Jake made some chocolate lava cakes. She has been teaching him how to cook a little. Tyler and I went riding on Sunday. Jake’s shoulder is still on the mend, but he came and hung out with some of his buddies.

Been slacking on the blog. Jake got tangled up with another rider on the start of his last race and went down on his shoulder pretty hard. Hopefully he heals up quick before football summer training starts. He has been really busy with his weeding jobs saving up for his first vehicle. Kristin watched Tyler compete in his school's Olympics events at his school. He did really well, even found another gear on the 50-yard dash to come in 3rd. He also had his first rugby scrimmage last weekend. He and I worked on his cell project for science. He did such a great job on it, the teacher asked to keep it to show other students in the future. This is the last week of school before summer break.
