We took a little family ski trip to Big Bear last week. We drove up Thursday evening and stayed at a "rustic cabin in the woods" or as Tyler called it "the shed". Kristin will also attest it was not the nicest cabin but it worked for a couple nights. We had a great day skiing Friday. Although Tyler has gotten much better, I thought he was ready for a harder green... but he was not. I basically had to tackle him before he got too much speed, which he did not appreciate. I spent more time with him on the bunny slopes and he had those mastered by the end of the day. Jake and I finished the day on the terrain park. Jake likes the jumps. Saturday morning, we went snow tubing before we headed back home. Today we got a little riding in at our local track.

Just doing our best to stay dry over the weekend. Took the boys to Pump-it-up this morning to burn off some energy after being cooped up in the house all weekend. It stopped raining this afternoon so we took a trip down to the swing.
Home work time. Jake inherited Kristin's trait of sticking his tongue out when he is concentrating.

 Happy Valentine's Day

 Tyler lost his 3rd tooth.

Tyler had his charity fun run this week. He ran a very impressive 37 laps (1 more than there are mark off spots on his shirt). He raised $389 for his school!! A big thanks to all our family and friends that sponsored him, including Jake who volunteered on his own to support his brother with his own money.

Tyler also had his first baseball practice on Friday. He is on the A's again with much of his same team from last year. They have moved up to rookies so this is the division they start with the pitching machine. He was supposed to have another on Saturday but it got rained out.

Both boys finished up this session of soccer. Jake's team had an awesome playoff game. Jake scored one of their six goals. It went into overtime and then into a shoot-off. Unfortunately, they lost the shoot-off but it was an edge of your seat game. I had a proud Dad moment when one of the other team fell down and Jake ran over to help the player up. All the parents remarked how great his sportsmanship is. Tyler did great in soccer as well and his coach recommended he be moved up in the next level skills class.

We went to the track today and I took my bike as well. We had a lot of fun riding together. Jake really has his 65 dialed in. I took him out on the big track and he was out jumping most of the adults out there including me!

Not many pictures this week. We had the usual week with school, homework, karate and soccer on the weekend. Not much else to report.

Watched the Superbowl at a friend's house who had a cat that actually let the boys pet him.

I am back from a week long business trip. Tyler's last library book choice was a dessert cook book, so he and Kristin picked out one of the recipes to make. The boys went to a birthday party Saturday that had animals, lizards and birds. Jake raced his 65 for the first time Sunday. It was packed! His first moto had 26 kids! He was running 7th till he had a bobble in a turn on the last lap. He did very well for his first race on it and learned a lot.

Tyler got a cavity filled this week. He was nervous going in but he did pretty well. Also, Tyler, who has unusually good rhythm considering Kristin and I have none, has been doing a hip-hop class on Friday afternoons for a couple months. His class had a little performance and Tyler had the best Cha-Cha of the group. He looked like John Travolta! We got a lot of rain this week so much so that the creek behind our house, which is usually dry, has been running pretty well. The boys, Dungey and I went on a hike today to check it out. Of course, both boys and the dog came home soaking wet. Kristin went out with some friends tonight, so we wheeled the boy’s bikes into the living room to get a pic of them sitting on them watching Supercross. I sent it in and they showed it on TV during the races.

Met some friends on the trail

Jake and his team won his soccer game.
