The boys had a nice spring break and are not exactly
thrilled to be going back to school tomorrow. I've enjoyed the reprieve from
baseball/tee ball for a week.
Jake had a game on Saturday. I keep the official score book at
about half of Jake's games and I got Tyler an extra one so he can keep score
with me. He loves it, although I'm not sure what he puts in his score book is
really representative of the actual game.
Both boys raced today. There were a ton of kids racing. On
Jake's first moto he didn't get a great start and got buried at 8th in the
middle of 16 riders. His tenacity was incredible, working his way up through the
pack with some great block passes, getting up to 3rd just after the first lap.
He reeled in the next rider and made the pass to get 2nd on the last lap. He
ended up with 2nd in his class and 3rd in the open class overall.
Tyler rode in the first-timer class. He does a lot more
sight-seeing than racing, but he had fun. I'm pretty sure politics is in his
future. His favorite thing is going around and talking to people, eating their
food and playing with their dogs. They broke the mold with that one!
Jake is the points leader in the series he is racing. In professional motocross the points leader is identified with a red number plate. I told him a long time ago if he ever got the points lead in a series I would get him a red plate... of course that is the thing he remembers.
Dungey has be absolutely awesome. He has only chewed one thing he wasn't suppose to until now when we left some paper bags out.
Jake supervising!
