We had a great thanksgiving camping at the desert with friends.

The boys are on Thanksgiving break. Saturday, we did some chores around the house including taking the recycling in. Saturday night was family movie night. Tyler met up with a buddy for lunch on Sunday while Jake had a race. It started off great with him winning his first moto, second moto he got tangled with another rider on the start and rang his bell pretty good. We took him in to get a CT scan and thankfully everything checked out good. Not a dull moment in the VanSant household.

Lots of soccer over the weekend. Tyler had a game Friday night and Jake had a game on Saturday and Sunday. Tyler is getting pretty good at goalie and Jakes team is getting better at working together. Tyler and I got a little riding in Sunday and then went to his favorite place for lunch. Kristin and Jake went for sushi after his game.

Had a great week and weekend. Tyler was awarded the Eagle of the Month at school. He also read the weekly announcement that gets sent out to all the parents and did in amazing job with that. Over the weekend he had friends over for a playdate and nerf war at our house. He and Kristin also went shopping for a new sofa, which he then reported back to me with the all reasons we should get the one he likes. Jake, his buddy Nolan, his Dad and I went to a huge race for kids Thursday through Sunday. There was almost a thousand kids at this race. It started off on the wrong foot when Jake’s engine died on his 3^rd lap of the practice day. With permission from Kristin, I got him a new big wheel 85 (early Christmas, Birthday, Easter, St Patrick’s day… present!!) Lots of fast competition but he did great and jelled with his new bigger bike immediately. He had a great first day of racing and went 2nd-1st in his motos. He had some bad luck on the second day going 8th-6th. The third day he dug deep for a 3^rd-2^nd and got a 4^th and 1^st overall for the weekend!

We took the boys to the sprint car races right next door to where they were racing.

We had a great Halloween. It was especially great this year after covid put a dampener on last year. We had some neighbors over Friday night to carve jack-o-lanterns. Saturday, we went fishing off shore with a bunch of friends on a buddy’s boat. We had a great time and the boys caught a bunch of fish. For Halloween Tyler dressed up as engineer from his favorite video game. I think Jake is getting to the age where he is not into Halloween. He put on his dirt bike race gear at the last minute.
