We camped this weekend at Fox raceway with Jake's race buddy Mason and they raced Sunday while Tyler got some riding in. It was hot but the boys had fun.

The boys made Kristin some homemade bath bombs for when she takes a tub.

Summer is in full swing. Kristin was on a business trip last week but the boys and I took advantage of the time before Jake starts summer school this week to have some fun. Tuesday, we spent the whole afternoon and evening at Sea World. It wasn’t very busy on a weekday so the boys went from ride to ride. Thursday, we went to the San Diego County Fair and it was wristband night, so again the boys went from ride to ride. We took it easy this weekend. The boys went to the skate park and we had neighborhood friends over Saturday night. Kristin has another business trip this week but the boys and I are doing ok keeping things going here when she has to travel.

On the way to fair the boys had to read
(using motivation whenever I can)

Tyler won the first squirt gun game.
Jake won the next game and gave the stuffed toy he won to a little boy that also played that round.

Back from my business trip in time for Father’s Day. Summer has officially started for both boys as Tyler’s last day of school was Thursday. Jake had a couple of school friends over to swim last week. For Father’s Day, the boys and I went riding at our local track, then we came home for a swim and Kristin made an awesome steak dinner. Kristin is handing the baton back to me as she heads out tomorrow for a week on business.

Super busy week! Kristin had a business trip to Ohio. Jake had his school play on the American revolution Tuesday, the same night Tyler had his “Invention Convention” at school. Luckily some friends helped and I was able to Ping-Pong back and forth and catch most of both. Jake had his last day of school and end of year ceremony Thursday. I went with Tyler to his school Friday morning for “donuts with Dad” and then he had his Friday flag ceremony where he got a good character award and a T-shirt for running 50 miles throughout the year with the running club. Saturday, we all did the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Mud Run. Both boys and Momma did great. Jake did the 5k with me and finished 2nd out of like 100 adults in our wave (I was 3rd). Ty had fun and wants to do the kids run again next year. Jake and I left right from there for him to do an afternoon/night race till like 9:30 (he had a nap on the drive). He did great and got a 2nd and 3rd in his two classes. Probably his last race on the 65 as it will be all Tyler’s from now on. Now I’m handing the baton off to Kristin as I head off on a business trip to Norfolk VA this week.

Of course, Tyler showing off his invention to the ladies

He is a character for sure!!

Tyler had a project in school to help improve some part of our life. His idea was to build an automatic dog feeder to fed our dog Dungey. We built a prototype and he presented it to his class on Friday. Of course, he was excited to speak in front of his class and of course he did great! The boys deposited the contents of their piggy banks into their savings accounts. Tyler had lots of questions for the bank teller about the security of the bank vault. We also got our pool set up. Saturday the boys went to the skate park and that night we went to the movies and saw the new Avengers movie. Today we met a bunch of friends at the local track to go riding.
