I'm back from my trip to Australia and it's good to be home.
The boys were good for Kristin while I was gone. Jake really stepped up and
helped out a lot. Last weekend they went to a friend's birthday party and rode their
bikes to the beach. Jake had a race yesterday and did awesome. He was able
to figure out a really tricky rhythm section that helped him finish well.

Enjoying
summer. Friday night the boys had a friend over for a sleep over/camp out in
the back yard. Saturday Jake and I went to Pala raceway which has been rebranded
as Fox raceway, for the grand opening. A bunch of Fox riders were there. He got
to ride the track with Chad Reed, Ricky
Carmichael and Ryan Dungey! Then got to meet all them along with Adam
Cianciarulo and Jeff Emig. Saturday evening we had a party at our house
and all the boys had a blast. This afternoon we went to the beach. Rough life
these two have living in San Diego.

We
had a great 4th and Tyler had a great 8th birthday. We spent the night with
some friends on the 3rd for some swimming and BBQing. We watched fireworks on
the 4th from the back of my truck on the mountain close to the high school
where they set them off from. On Saturday we celebrated Tyler's birthday and stayed
out of the heat by going to the movies and Red Robin. Today we took Jake, Tyler
and some of Tylers' friends go-cart racing then back to our place for some Nerf
gun wars, swimming, pizza, cake and ice cream. Hard to believe it's been 8
years already.
Nothing like eating lunch with a captive audience

We had a busy weekend! We spent Saturday on Fiesta Island in
Mission Bay. A bunch of friends and neighbors met us there to have fun at the beach
for the day. The boys had a blast swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and
fishing. Tyler worked really hard at mastering the paddle board, which is much
harder than it looks. Ty also caught a fish, which really surprised us all. We
stayed till after dark and made s'mores. Today we went sea kayaking at La
Jolla Cove. The surf was pretty high. Tyler and I had a scary moment when we
got thrown up on the rocks. We made it out ok, but we will probably wait till
the boys are a little older before we try that again!
