Jake is officially done with football for the year. He got pulled up to the Varsity team to help prep during the playoffs and got to dress for the playoff games. They won the California Interscholastic Federation championship for their division but were eliminated one game before the final state playoff game. With that done, he is now able to do wrestling practice. Tyler has been doing rugby practice a few nights a week with his team getting ready for the season that starts in January. Took Jake to the awards ceremony for the race series he just finished. The venue at Blackmore Ranch was very cool. He got 2nd in both classes he raced. The boys met friends at Fox for some riding Sunday. Both are happy to get a couple weeks off school over the Christmas break.

Tyler got his Christmas present early, a brand-new dirt bike for the start of the riding season. Jake was selected as the JV football defensive player of the year. Outstanding achievement, especially considering he started playing football his freshman year literally not knowing anything about football. He has been pulled up to the varsity team helping them prepare as they have been winning through the championships so far. The boys and I met some of Jakes friends to ride and camp with on Saturday. Tyler did awesome on his new bike. He looked comfortable on it right away. Jake raced on Sunday and did great as usual. He cliched 2nd place in both his classes for the fall race series.

Jake had another race earlier in the month. He did well but his bearing went out on his rear wheel. Luckily his friend Hunter let Jake use his spare bike for the last race. We flew to Idaho to celebrate Grandma Gretchen’s 80th birthday with her and the cousins. The boys went with their cousins to a Washing State football game.

Slacking on the Blog again. In early October we celebrated Dungey’s 9th birthday (for real this time, we accidently aged him by a year for the few years). Jake had a race also at the beginning of the month. I went on a 3-week work trip back to Sicily. Tyler’s football team did not make it too far in the play offs, but he’s has already started Rugby workouts. Jake finished up his season with JV but will join the Varsity team for the playoffs. Tyler dressd up as a cop for Halloween.
